If your existing courier insurance is coming up for renewal in the next month or so or you are just setting up a courier service business then you may want to shop around for your cover rather than just automatically renew your existing policy or accept the first quote you obtain. One of the ways of doing this is to use the services of a price comparison website although it is worth remembering that not all insurance companies use the services of a price comparison website.
Unfortunately, not everyone does bother to shop around to see if they can get the cover cheaper with another insurer. If they did, they may be pleasantly surprised to find that they may have been able to save some money.
It is interesting to read that, according to MoneySuperMarket.com that is a very well known price comparison website, the average cost of fully comprehensive car insurance dropped in the first quarter of 2021 to £417 per annum. In the last quarter of 2020 the average cost of such cover was £490 so there has been an average drop of £73 per annum. Of course, just because the cost of insuring a family saloon has, on average, fallen, does not mean to say that the average cost of courier insurance has also gone down over the same period but it would not come as a surprise if it has done so.
It will also not come as a surprise to read that London is the most expensive part of the UK to insure a car. One of the reasons for this may be due to the capital being so densely populated. In fact, the average cost of comprehensive car insurance in East London is more that twice that of the national average at £870 per annum.
Unfortunately, if you are a young driver you can expect to pay quite a bit more for your car insurance than the more mature driver as you are statistically more likely to be involved in a road traffic accident. If you are 65 years of age or more then the premium is an average of £258 per annum but if you are between 20 and 24 years of age the average premium is £871 per annum.
So, if your existing courier cover is shortly coming up for renewal or you require such cover for the first time, why not spend a relatively short period of time doing some shopping around to see if you can save yourself some money which in the current economic climate has got to be welcomed.
