There are an awful lot of people here in the UK who purchase one or more items on the Internet rather than going into a high street shop to buy something. Those purchases need to be delivered. Fortunately, there are numerous courier companies in the UK who deliver parcels with some making deliveries 7 days a week including Sundays.
As with most services, there are some companies who provide a better courier service than others. Unfortunately, consumers usually have very little or no choice as to which courier company he or she wishes to use to deliver their purchase. In some respects, that is a shame as there would appear to be quite a difference in the service levels of some courier businesses if a recent Money Saving Expert is anything to go by.
The survey was undertaken in January 2024 and covered usage of couriers in the previous year. Votes were carried out by 8,159 people with those voters being able to make more than one vote. As a result, those voters made 56,115 votes. They gave the courier firm either a Poor (0 points), OK (1 point) or Great (2 points) rating.
In first place was DPD that received 55% Great ratings, 31% OK ratings and 15% Poor ratings.
In second place was Amazon Logistics that received 49% Great ratings, 39% OK ratings and 13% Poor ratings.
In third place was DPD Local with 54% Great ratings, 28% OK ratings and 19% Poor ratings.
In fourth place was DHL with 44% Great ratings, 42% OK ratings and 15% Poor ratings.
In fifth place was Royal Mail with 41% Great ratings, 39% OK ratings and 20% Poor ratings.
Unfortunately, someone has to come last in such a survey and that was TNT with 14% Great ratings, 51% OK ratings and 36% Poor ratings.
We are sure that the above figures relating to courier firms will make interesting reading for a number of people. We will continue to provide informative statistics in the future.
